My logic is that I had started to experience enough in this world to finally start reflecting in words what I have in my heart and mind. Sitting at my desk one day I had the idea to write and self-publish a book in one year and made it a goal. And so the book known as ‘debt’ was born after 13 months of trial and error… and more trial and error. Although it was a painstaking experience it provided me with a creative outlet that I had never explored and was proud of my accomplishment. The idea for more books started and then I knew I had found a new creative love.
Being mainly a reader of biographies and poetry, creating a book seemed to flow more naturally than I had expected. Reading the works and short stories of Joan Didion was a huge influence, as well as listening to The Writers Almanac on National Public Radio. Aside from writing I'm an avid record collector and enjoys many forms of art.
